Fortera recognized by Forbes and PEOPLE

Fortera was recently honored with recognitions from Forbes and PEOPLE magazine. We were recognized as the #2 Credit Union on the 2026 Forbes Best Credit Unions in Tennessee list and were named to the Great Place To Work® and PEOPLE magazine 2026 PEOPLE® Companies that Care list.

According to Forbes, the list was published in tandem with America’s Best-In-State Banks 2026. These ninth annual rankings—created in partnership with market research firm Statista—were based on survey responses from 26,000 United States residents. Participants were asked how satisfied they were and how likely they were to recommend the U.S.-based banks and credit unions at which they have a checking or savings account, those at which they had an account within the last three years, and those they knew through friends and family. This is Fortera’s first time being named to the prestigious PEOPLE® Companies that Care list, coming in at No. 52. Earning a spot means that Fortera has surpassed rigorous benchmarks, establishing itself as one of the best companies to work for in the country.

The PEOPLE® Companies that Care list is based on over 1.3 million employee survey responses and data from companies representing the experience of more than 7.3 million employees in the United States. Of those surveys, nearly 970,000 responses came from employees at companies eligible for this year’s list, and these rankings are based on that feedback.
