Our primary purpose is clear: we empower each other, our members and our communities to create life-changing impact.
By IMPowering our team with personal ownership for providing the best member experience while achieving professional and personal goals, we will IMPower our members with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in their own financial journeys.
We’re drivers of intentional, positive change. There are some things, however, that we believe should never change. These are the core tenets of who we are as an organization. They’re our cultural identity and the talk we walk each and every day.
Those Core Values are what led us to being certified as a Great Place To Work® and being named Best Credit Union at the 2023 Best of Clarksville and receiving Gold in Customer Service and Place to Work 100+ categories and Silver in the Credit Union and Home Mortgage categories at the 2023 Clarksville's Best.
Fortera Credit Union is different. That difference is boldly reflected in the core values that empower our diverse team and the collective sum of all who join us. Throughout our organization, we oppose systemic and institutional racism and are committed to supporting a pathway to change. Fortera’s diversity connects us in ways that make our employees, members, and community stronger. Our “people helping people” DNA will continually foster an inclusive culture where we learn, grow, and inspire together.
An environment of inclusivity and open dialogue
Like our core values, these are intentional actions we pursue every day. Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is made up of employees dedicated to fostering an environment of inclusivity and open dialogue through education and actionable impact. In doing so, we strive to serve as an organizational role model within our community.
Our ongoing conversations (eye-opening, honest and varied) about our own life experiences help us better understand one another and how both conscious and unconscious bias affects us every single day. We carry the lessons of those conversations into the policies we draft, the conversations we hold, and the relationships we build at work.
Central to our core values is a commitment to invest earnings back into the communities in which we live and work. Fortera and the Fortera Foundation invest considerably in educational and community initiatives while supporting our employees in local volunteer efforts. We further this investment by offering all full-time employees 40 hours annually for paid Volunteer Time Off to serve the charitable cause or organization of their choice.
As our most cherished asset, Fortera Credit Union places a high priority on the health and financial well-being of our employees and their families. In addition to financial compensation, our generous and comprehensive benefits program enables employees to provide affordable healthcare for themselves and their families. We’re confident that our program is the very best in the market, and our employees are pretty proud of it too. But don’t just take our word for it. Industry experts are saying the same thing. Douglas Barnes, Principal and Client Executive at One Digital, recognizes Fortera’s benefits package to be among the most generous in the State of Tennessee.
