For a brand new or rising business that’s not writing or depositing a lot of checks just yet, Essential Checking has you covered. All it takes is $100 to get going and you’re off. No matter where you’re headed, our team is here to support your every step.

Gold Checking

All the rewards that come with having more capital, none of the fuss.

For businesses with a higher volume of monthly transactions, our Gold Checking account is designed to reward you for all of your hard work. In fact, if you maintain a balance of $2,500 or more you’ll earn monthly dividends (aka free money) just for banking with us.

Can I connect multiple Checking Accounts to the same Business ChangeUp Account?

No, members may only connect one business debit card and one business checking account (the business debit card and business checking account must be connected) to a Business ChangeUp Savings Account.

Who is eligible to open a Business Essential or Gold Checking Account?

To be able to open a Go Checking Account, you must meet the following eligibility requirements: (1) You must be 18 years of age or older (2) You must live, work, worship, or attend school in one of our service regions; join an affiliated partner, or have an immediate family member who is a Fortera member. Our service regions include Montgomery, Stewart, Chester, Decatur, Lewis, McNairy, and Perry counties in Tennessee or Christian, Trigg, Todd, McLean, and Webster counties in Kentucky. Residents of other counties in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Arkansas may also be eligible. (3) You must have a Share Savings Account to establish Fortera Credit Union Membership. (4) You must be a business owner.

What documents do I need to open a Business Essential Checking Account?

To verify your identity, we always ask that you come prepared with a government-issued ID. It is important that it is not expired. Examples of acceptable IDs include a State Driver's License or a U.S or Foreign Passport. If we have trouble validating your ID, we may ask for a secondary ID. Can I open a Business Essential or Gold Checking Account online or do I need to open it at a branch location?
