Who is eligible to open a Flex Checking Account?

To be able to open a Flex Checking Account, you must meet the following eligibility requirements: (1) You must be 13 - 17 years of age (2) You must live, work, worship, or attend school in one of our service regions; join an affiliated partner, or have an immediate family member who is a Fortera member. Our service regions include Montgomery, Stewart, Chester, Decatur, Lewis, McNairy, and Perry counties in Tennessee or Christian, Trigg, Todd, McLean, and Webster counties in Kentucky. Residents of other counties in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Arkansas may also be eligible. (3) You must have a Share Savings Account to establish Fortera Credit Union Membership.

What is the Price Protection benefit in Full Circle Checking?

Price Protection from Mastercard may provide reimbursement for the price differences found on items that were purchased with an eligible Mastercard. For instance, if a member discovers a cheaper price for the Beats Headphones they just purchased, they may be eligible for reimbursement. Cardholders must use their eligible Mastercard entirely to purchase the item. If a cardholder sees a printed or non-auction internet advertisement for the same product for a lower price within the eligible time period applicable on your Mastercard, they may be eligible for the price difference. Cardholders will need to provide their original itemized store receipts, card statement record of purchase and a copy of advertisement showing the lower price found. Members may file a claim at www.mycardbenefits.com or by calling 1-800-MASTERCARD.

How does the Satisfaction Guarantee benefit work for Full Circle Checking?

If you become dissatisfied with a product you purchase using your eligible Mastercard within 60 days of purchase, and the store will not accept a return, you may be eligible for a refund for the cost of the product up to $250. Let’s say a cardholder purchased a rug that ends up being too small for the area they wished to cover. They attempt to return it, but it is beyond the store’s return policy of 20 days. They may be eligible for a refund. They must pay for the item using their eligible Mastercard and the item must be purchased from a store that provides a return or exchange policy of at least 10 days. The item must be returned undamaged, in good working condition, in its original and complete packaging along with the original itemized store receipt and card statement showing the record of purchase. How does the Extended Warranty benefit work in Full Circle Checking?

Mastercard may extend the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty on certain items that were purchased using their Full Circle Mastercard (i.e. a refrigerator purchase). Coverage may be provided for the repair or replacement cost of the item and will not exceed the actual amount charged on the eligible Mastercard. Cardholders will need to provide their original itemized store receipts, card statement record of purchase and the original manufacturer warranty. Members can file a claim or check the status of a claim at www.mycardbenefits.com or by calling 1-800-MASTERCARD.

How do I enable transaction alerts

Fortera provides members with several options for enabling transaction alerts.

From within Online Banking

  1. Once you have logged into your account, click the Notifications link the page header.
  2. From the pop-up window that opens, click the Settings link at the bottom.
  3. On the Settings page, enable the types of alerts you wish to receive.

From within the Mobile Banking App

  1. Once you have logged into your account, select the More link in the footer.
  2. Click on the settings icon (looks like a gear) at the top of the More page.
  3. Select Push Notifications.
  4. From the Push Notifications page you can enable the type of alerts you wish to receive.

From within the Cards App

  1. Once you have logged into your account, click the menu icon in the upper left corner.
  2. Click Notification Settings.
  3. From the Notification Settings page, select the card you wish to get alerts on and then click the Alerts tab.
  4. From within the Alerts tab, you can select which type of transaction alerts you wish to receive.
