Fortera Financial Explorer Kit

Discovering financial confidence, one adventure at a time.

An Educational Activity Box for Kids and Parents

The Fortera Financial Explorer Kit is a hands-on, story-based program designed to help families build strong financial skills at home. Every three months, your children will receive a curated box that blends reading, activities, and games to make learning about money simple and fun. Perfect for elementary-age children, with one box being enough to share with an entire family.

Boxes can be ordered by emailing our Director of Financial Wellness at pcraft@forteracu.com, or by visiting your favorite local branch and signing up. If you sign up for the Explorer Kit at a branch, you may receive your first box that day. All other boxes will be mailed to your home. Boxes are mailed out the first week of March, June, September, and December.

Members may choose one of two donation options. A $10 quarterly subscription donation, or a $40 one-time yearly donation. Nonmembers may also make a $40 one-time donation. Visit any Fortera branch or contact our Financial Wellness Director, Peyton Craft, at pcraft@forteracu.com, to get your first box.

The Fortera Foundation

To receive a Fortera Financial Explorer Kit, we ask our members to donate to the Fortera Foundation rather than make a purchase. Those donations support single parents in our community pursuing higher education and provide scholarships to 10 graduating high school seniors.

FAQs

I am not a Fortera member. Can I still sign up to receive a Financial Explorer Kit for my child?

+

Yes! As a nonmember, you have the option to make an annual donation of $40 to the Fortera Foundation. This donation works exactly like a subscription, and you will be scheduled to receive the next four Financial Explorer Kits.

We have more than one elementary-aged child in our house. Should we order two boxes, one for each child?

+

For households with more than one elementary-age child, we recommend only subscribing to one Financial Explorer Kit and sharing the box among the children.

My children/grandchildren do not have a Sprout Savings Account with Fortera, but I am a member. May I sign them up?

+

Absolutely! You can choose to make either the $40 annual donation or the $10 quarterly donation to the Fortera Foundation to order our Financial Explorer Kits for your kids/grandkids.

Is it okay if my children/grandchildren live at a different address than I do?

+

No problem at all. When you sign up, please just let us know which address you would like your boxes sent to.

How do I update my mailing address or contact information for this subscription?

+

You can update your information by contacting your local branch or emailing our Financial Wellness Director, Peyton Craft, at pcraft@forteracu.com.

I am not a member, but I would prefer to make a quarterly donation rather than an annual one. Is that possible?

+

Quarterly donations are available only to our members, but membership is very easy to obtain. All you need to do is open a Membership Share Account with us (this is the credit union way of saying open a Savings Account with us). You can apply online, call us, or stop by any of our local branches, and our team will be happy to assist you.

Can I cancel or pause my subscription?

+

Yes, of course. Just reach out to us and let us know how we can update your subscription status.

Whom may I contact if I have questions about the Financial Explorer Kits or my subscription?

+

Please reach out to Peyton Craft, our Financial Wellness Director, at pcraft@forteracu.com.
